Trespassed for Filming? My Audit at Families First of Palm Beach County
Imagine walking up to a public building, camera in hand, ready to conduct a First Amendment audit—and before you even step inside, someone blocks your path, threatens to call the police, and demands you leave.
That’s exactly what happened to me when I went to Families First of Palm Beach County, located inside the Palm Beach County Housing Authority building.
At first, I planned to fight the unlawful trespass, so I never released this footage. But while waiting for public records from my Palm Beach International Airport audit, I figured this was the perfect time to finally share what happened.
Here’s the full story.
Why I Was There
This audit took place on August 9, 2024, after I spoke with @Liberty_Troll, another First Amendment auditor.
He had visited the Palm Beach County School Board—which is just across the street from where this incident happened. During his visit, he was unlawfully trespassed, so I wanted to see if things had changed since his audit.
While talking with him, he also suggested I check out the Palm Beach County Housing Authority, which shares its building with Families First of Palm Beach County. I took his advice, and that’s where things got interesting.
Stopped Before I Could Enter
As I walked up to the Housing Authority building, I expected a typical audit—film the property, document the public space, and see if my rights were respected.
But before I could even get to the front door, I was stopped by a woman.
Her name? Christela Arcelin, from Families First of Palm Beach County.
Instead of greeting me or asking a simple question, she immediately became hostile, demanding to know where I was going and why I was filming.
I turned the question back on her—“Who are you?”
Rather than answering, she threatened to call the police and again demanded to know why I was recording.
I calmly told her there was no need to call 911, but she wasn’t interested in a conversation. Instead, she blocked my way and called the police anyway.
Hear The 911 Audio
At this point, I checked the business hours posted on the door and saw that the Housing Authority was actually closed. So, I wasn’t going to push the issue—I wasn’t trying to go somewhere that was closed.
But since she had already called the police, I stayed put to document everything.
Filming While Waiting for Police
For the next few minutes, I continued filming:
• Through the windows, I saw that the offices were completely empty.
•I walked around the back of the building, but aside from some bird feeders, there wasn’t much to see.
•At this point, I still wasn’t sure why Christela reacted the way she did, but I wasn’t going anywhere until I spoke with the deputies.
Then, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) arrived.
The Lies Begin
Deputy Sheriff B. Del Valle (#31825) was the first to respond.
He approached me and asked what was going on.
I explained the situation—that Christela flipped out and called 911 just because I was filming.
I asked for his name and badge number, and to his credit, he provided it. But then, another person joined the conversation—a male employee from Families First.
And this is where the lies started.
This guy told the deputy that Christela was trying to leave the building, and I was blocking her. That was a complete lie.
I wasn’t blocking anyone. I was simply trying to enter a building I thought was open. When I realized it wasn’t, I backed off and waited for the police.
But the Families First employee wasn’t interested in the truth—he just wanted me gone.
Trespassed Under Threat of Arrest
At this point, Deputy Del Valle didn’t investigate or ask whether this was public property—he just started copsplaining, telling me I had to leave.
I pushed back, arguing that this was public property, but he wasn’t having it.
So I asked him point-blank: “If I refuse to leave, am I going to be arrested?”
His answer? Yes.
Rather than get arrested over this nonsense, I left and moved to the public sidewalk.
The Final Word
Before leaving, I stopped Deputy Del Valle one last time.
I asked for the case number, which he provided. Then, I told him exactly what I thought about how he handled the situation.
I called him a tyrant—because that’s exactly what he was in that moment.
I stayed on the public sidewalk, filming until he left.
Final Thoughts – What Really Happened Here?
Let’s break it down:
1. Christela Arcelin from Families First had no authority to remove me from the property.
2. Instead of simply telling me the building was closed and moving on, she escalated the situation by calling 911.
3. A Families First employee lied to PBSO, claiming I was blocking the door, when I wasn’t.
4. PBSO Deputy Del Valle didn’t ask the right questions—he just enforced what Families First wanted.
5. I was forced to leave under threat of arrest, despite being on what should have been public property.
This is exactly how private companies manipulate law enforcement to do their bidding. And PBSO? They didn’t even hesitate.
What’s Next?
I know a lot of you are waiting for my Palm Beach International Airport audit video—trust me, it’s coming. I’m just waiting on the PBSO bodycam footage to complete it.
And if you think this was bad, wait until you see what happened at the airport.
