At Good Citizen News Network (GCNN), we film in publicly accessible areas where there is no legal expectation of privacy. However, we recognize that not everyone wants to appear on camera — especially online.

To accommodate public concerns while still preserving the integrity of our reporting, GCNN offers the following options for individuals who wish to obscure or remove their appearance from our videos:

🔒 Free YouTube Privacy Complaint – Proceed with Caution

You may choose to file a free privacy complaint on YouTube if you feel your privacy has been violated. However, please be aware:

  1. A YouTube privacy complaint only applies to the uncensored YouTube version of the video.

    It does not restrict us from posting a censored version of the video to YouTube, or the same uncensored content on other platforms like Rumble, Facebook, TikTok, or our own website.

  2. Standard Procedure After a Complaint

    Contrary to what you might expect, our policy after receiving a privacy complaint is often to:

    • Make the uncensored version more widely accessible by making it a free download on our website allowing anyone in the world to download it and repost it themselves.

    • Upload it to additional platforms, and

  3. If your goal is to limit the visibility of the video, filing a privacy complaint on YouTube might have the opposite effect, increasing exposure rather than reducing it.

🔒 Paid Premium Privacy Service Options

1. Basic Blur – $50

• Face blurred wherever visible in the video.

• No name muting or edits to audio.

• Submit a timestamp of your appearance and screenshot for verification.

2. Full Obscurity – $150

• Face blurred.

• Name muted or removed from captions (if stated in the video).

• Excluded from thumbnails, titles, or description text.

3. Total Removal – $300+

• All scenes featuring you removed (if feasible).

• May affect the overall video structure or timeline.

• Requests must be made before the video reaches 5,000 views.

• Price may increase for high-traffic content.

📅 How to Submit a Request

1. Visit goodcitizennewsnetwork.com/optout

2. Complete the Removal Request Form with:

• Your full name

• Timestamp(s) of appearance

• Video title or link

• Screenshot of yourself in the video

• Desired service tier (Basic Blur, Full Obscurity, or Total Removal)

3. You’ll receive a payment link after your request is reviewed and approved.

4. Once payment is processed, edits are completed within 7 business days.

🚫 Important Terms

• GCNN is not legally obligated to blur or remove appearances filmed in public.

• This is a voluntary service offered as a courtesy and for editorial flexibility. 

• No refunds once edits have been completed.

• Requests may not be honored if:

  1. The request undermines the public interest of the story
  2. The request comes after a video has gone viral (over 50,000 views or national attention)
  • GCNN retains final editorial control over all content.
  • GCNN will never make the uncensored video publicly accessible for free view by the public.
  • GCNN reserves the right to publish the uncensored video behind a pay wall
